Financial Wisdom names new GM

Financial Wisdom has hired former Macquarie Private Wealth executive Mark Ballantyne to lead the dealer group.

Ballantyne takes over the position left vacant by Tim Browne, who was promoted last year to Colonial First State (CFS) head of advice delivery.

Prior to his role as Macquarie head of business development/division director, Ballantyne held senior financial advice positions with MLC and ING Australia.

In December last year, CFS announced a restructure of its advice divisions, with Browne assuming his new role and CFS head of distribution services John Carnevale taking on the role of advice academy head.

Other staff changes include head of distribution development Matthew Brown taking on the new role of head of advice development and Commonwealth Financial Planning head of strategy Helen Blackford stepping into the position of head of advice business management.

Ballantyne will take up his new role from 27 April.
