New South Wales firm A&B Financial Planning has joined Matrix Planning Solutions.

A&B Financial Planning, a former member firm of Count Financial, has joined Matrix Planning Solutions (Matrix), the dealer group has confirmed.

The firm, located in the town of Temora in regional New South Wales, is led by principal financial planner Andrew Parr and has approximately $55 million in funds under management.

"We are really pleased to be part of the Matrix group," Parr said.

"The philosophy that the group has in terms of how clients should be looked after and serviced fits well with how we run our business.

"It is this focus on strategic comprehensive advice and ensuring a client's needs are fully catered for that is perfectly aligned with our beliefs and our path going forward."

With 30 years of financial services experience Parr joined the industry as a trainee with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, moving his way up to branch manager.

He bought equity in a Temora-based accounting firm in 2000 and worked as a financial planner for nine years before establishing his own financial planning business, A&B Financial Planning, in 2009.

The team comprises five staff and has experienced significant growth in recent times, Matrix said.

A&B Financial Planning plans to take on more staff over the coming months and offers services in the areas of superannuation, pre-retirement and retirement planning, personal and business life insurance, savings and investment plans, and estate planning.

Matrix said it was looking to attract a further 10 practices nationwide and grow to approximately 120 from 94 advisers over the next couple of years.
