Schroders has hired a former UBS fund manager to its fixed income team.

Schroder Investment Management has hired Jasmin Argyrou as a fund manager for the firm's Australian fixed income team.

Argyrou will be responsible for developing the interest rate strategy for the fixed income business and will help manage the portfolios.

She previously worked at UBS Asset Management as director of fixed income, where she was also responsible for interest rate strategy management.

"Our fixed income business is growing strongly, both in Australia and globally. Jasmin's considerable experience in global interest rates combined with her strong research ethic make her an excellent addition to the team," Schroders head of fixed income and multi-asset Simon Doyle said.

The team now includes eight people.
