Media Super is planning to focus its attention on middle management with its latest appointment.
Media Super has appointed a business development manager to assist the fund with its growth plans.
Cameron Burne will work out of the Sydney office and report directly to Media Super chief executive Ross Martin.
Prior to his appointment, Burne was a senior business financial planner at Westpac.
Media Super general manager of administration and compliance Michael Rooney said Burne's initial role would be to work with the current group of relationship managers.
Currently, Media Super has one relationship manager in Queensland, one in South Australia, three in Sydney and three in Melbourne.
Rooney said the fund was focused on growing from within, rather then looking outside its core industries.
"Even though we do business with a lot of businesses, in a lot of the larger or medium-sized ones we often look after the factory staff or the casual staff. The retail or corporate funds look after the senior staff or the full-time staff," he said.
"So, Cameron's role will be to promote the fund's offering to the middle management and above."
Media Super has more than 115,000 members, 12,000 employers and more than $2.5 billion in assets.
