PIMCO secures more platform listings

Surge in demand

By Christine St Anne

PIMCO funds have secured listings on five investment platforms.

The EQT PIMCO Wholesale Australian Focus Fund has been added to Macquarie Wrap, BT Wrap, Asgard and Synergy Capital platforms.

The EQT PIMCO Wholesale Diversified Fixed Interest Fund has been added to the BT Wrap and Colonial First Wrap platform while the EQT PIMCO Wholesale Global Bond Fund has been added to the Colonial First Wrap platform and IOOF platform.

"This year has seen a remarkable turnaround in investor's demand for fixed income investments," PIMCO head of retail investments Peter Dorrian said.

"With the problems experienced by many funds which advisers traditionally used for income, we have seen a massive surge in demand for our funds to be placed on the major platforms used by planners and advisers," he said.

The Australian Focus Fund has been of particular interest to the market given its low risk exposure to the local bond market, according to Dorrian.
