The association has hired a former Skandia staffer for its policy team.
The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has hired David Graus for its policy team.
Graus was hired on a contract basis and will provide investment advice. He will report to policy and industry practice director Melinda Howes.
"There is enormous work to be done in our policy area. David will assist us in providing investment advice, particularly in the area of the valuation of unlisted assets and growth and balanced definitions," ASFA chief executive Pauline Vamos said.
"We need someone who understands these issues."
Graus previously worked for investment firms including ipac and Skandia.
Graus will work with ASFA for "quite a few months," Vamos said.
"We will be looking to add more specialists on a contract basis. We want to have that flexibility to add people on a contract basis who can then support our existing staff."
