In a statement, Westpac said Ms Pickard – who had been a member of the Westpac board since December 2011 – will resign following the conclusion of the 2014 annual general meeting in December 2014.
During her role Ms Pickard served both on the board risk and compliance and the board remuneration committees.
Ms Pickard’s decision to resign came after her executive relocation to the United States and the “expectations that her commitments in North America will increase”.
