Vision Super signs software deal with Sapiens

Implementation will reduce costs

By Wouter Klijn
Thu 02 Sep 2010

Vision Super has signed a software contract with Sapiens.

Victorian local government superannuation fund Vision Super has awarded a contract to Sapiens for the provision of a Windows-based administration platform.

The United States-based software company will help the $4 billion super fund bolt its administration system onto a Windows server environment, which should result in a large reduction in the overall cost of ownership.

The new system will be implemented by the end of 2010 with the help of a local distributor.

Financial details of the contract have not been made public.

"We came out of an independent systems review where the Sapiens platform for superannuation was given a clean bill of health," Vision Super business systems manager Geoff Pell said.

"A strong recommendation was put forward to reduce the overall cost of ownership by moving this platform to run on a Windows server environment.

"We approached Sapiens to explore this avenue further and I was pleased that Sapiens could provide the path for this migration.

"They also had proven market traction, with customers running large transaction-heavy systems on this architecture. This gave us the confidence to select Sapiens as the service provider to support our growth plans and increase our member base over the coming years."
